I coordinate donations at Pioneer Women's Shelter in Accra. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Accra, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Pioneer Women's Shelter on Wednesday between 11am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Pioneer Women's Shelter clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Glad we found this place.

  • So sorry you're going through this, Jemima. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best.

    • I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My neighbor in Liverpool donated after I showed her your page. God bless.

      • Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Thinking of Accra.

        • Sending good thoughts, Jemima. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Blessings.

          • Sending strength, Jemima. Hope you get there. Greetings from Duisburg.
