I coordinate donations at Unity Women's Shelter in Bonny. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Bonny, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Unity Women's Shelter on Monday between 11am and 4pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Unity Women's Shelter clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thank you for reading my story.

  • I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Tangier.

    • Wishing you peace. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. I'm in nursing myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Greetings from Magelang.

      • Wishing you peace. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Please keep us posted.

        • Hope things get better soon, Danjuma. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
