I coordinate donations at the Union Community Church in Haarlem. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Haarlem, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Union Community Church on Wednesday between 9am and 4pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Union Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thank you so much.

You're not alone, Annelies. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Fresno.

      • thinking of you, Annelies. Shared it with a few friends. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

        • stay strong. This could happen to any of us. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

Hope it all works out, Annelies. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Augsburg.
