Donate a coat: Akira is collecting for 28 families
A simple way to help: donate warm clothing for kids at Pioneer Women's Shelter.

I coordinate donations at Pioneer Women's Shelter in Kobe. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 4-12. If you're in Kobe, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Pioneer Women's Shelter on Sunday between 10am and 2pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the Pioneer Women's Shelter clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Take care, Akira. This could happen to any of us. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Wishing you the best, Akira. I hope things turn around soon. God bless!
I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Kobe.
sending love. Shared this with my family. Love from Hải Phòng
It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Kobe.
Thinking of you and your family. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Kassel so I could bring a meal.
