The electricity account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on April unless I pay $150. I have never been late before losing my job in December. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $15 first, which I don't have. I live with an elderly mother, and going through winter without electricity isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Nafula's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $150 goes: • Water arrears: $75 • Reconnection and late fees: $20 • Down payment on a payment plan: $55 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Nafula

Updates from Nafula

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($65 in total) I made the first payment toward reconnection and late fees. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
