Don't let Mercedes's family go through the cold months without gas

The gas account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless I pay $250. I have never been late before a reduction in hours. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which I don't have. I live with a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the cold months without gas isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
