Does anyone know a disability-rights advocate willing to help for free? Lia, Jakarta
Legal aid is overbooked; a few hours of professional help would change the outcome for Lia.

I'm facing a visa refusal appeal, with a hearing on July. I earn too much to qualify for legal aid on paper, but not nearly enough to pay a lawyer's retainer.
I'm looking for a qualified disability-rights advocate licensed in DKI Jakarta who might be able to review my documents, prepare me for the hearing, or take the case pro bono or on a reduced fee.
I've organized my documents chronologically, and I'll share them with the lawyer who agrees to help. I can travel to your office in Jakarta or meet online.
I understand that the time of a lawyer is valuable, and I'm deeply grateful for any help or for suggestions of organizations that could assist.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
- effort
- 3–6 hours total
- format
- In person in Jakarta
- skills
- law, advocacy, document review

Hope things get better soon, Lia. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Jakarta.
thanks for sharing this, Lia. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out.
So sorry you're going through this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Greetings from Los Angeles
