Danielle needs someone who understands: peer support in recovery

A weekly call with someone who has been through it - that's the whole ask.

I'm ten months into recovery from alcohol dependence. I attend meetings and see a counselor, but the weeks between meetings are the hardest. I'd love a mentor - someone who has a year or more of recovery and who would be willing to talk once a week. I'm not looking for a replacement for treatment. I'm looking for someone who understands what a bad Tuesday night feels like. I'd prefer someone who's happy to do video calls. Any country is fine. I'll be respectful of your time and boundaries, and happy to pay it forward later. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My neighbor in Oakland donated after I showed her your page.

    • Keep going, Danielle. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out.

      • Good luck. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. It's not much but it's yours. Take care

        • Rooting for you, Danielle. This could happen to any of us

          • Hope the doctors have good news. Thinking of San Francisco.
