Theodore lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Theodore, who's 72. Theodore lives alone in Newcastle upon Tyne, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Theodore loves old films, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
