Could you share an hour a week with Sushila?
Sushila lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Sushila, who's 93. Sushila lives alone in Kathmandu, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives several hours away.
Sushila loves crossword puzzles, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
I hope life is good to you.

wishing you the best. Shared this with my family. Put this on a community board in Colombo this morning.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My neighbor in Newport donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Kathmandu.
keep going, Sharmila. Looking forward to the next update. My husband and I read this together. God bless.
Thanks for sharing this. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
