Could you share an hour a week with Shanice?

An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Shanice is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Shanice, who's 78. Shanice lives alone in Ekurhuleni, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives a long flight away. Shanice loves crossword puzzles, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Friday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Thanks for being kind about this.

        • Thanks for sharing this, Pravin. Wishing Shanice a smooth procedure and a full recovery. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from El Paso.

          • Best of luck, Pravin. Shared it with a few friends. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Ekurhuleni.
