Could you share an hour a week with Michele?
Michele lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Michele, who's 86. Michele lives alone in Bari, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives 786 kilometers away.
Michele loves local history, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Tuesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

a colleague of mine might know someone for this in Puglia. I'll ask around and let you know.
Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Bari.
Praying for you. This could happen to any of us. I'll check back for the next update. All the best
Best of luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Keep going, Cristina. Hope this works out for you.
