Could you share an hour a week with Jiro?
Looking for a friendly person in Tokyo to visit Jiro once a week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Jiro, who's 94. Jiro lives alone in Tokyo, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Jiro loves knitting, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Tuesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

stay strong. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. God bless.
Thinking of you and your family, Shota. I hope things turn around soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Lowell.
