Could you share an hour a week with Eric?

Looking for a friendly person in Tema to visit Eric once a week.

Tema
I'm writing for my neighbor Eric, who's 82. Eric lives alone in Tema, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives 285 kilometers away. Eric loves chess, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Monday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

    • wishing you the best, Priscilla. Hope this works out for you. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Jakarta.

      • Best of luck. Hope the doctors have good news. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too!

        • Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My neighbor in Los Angeles donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
