Could you share an hour a week with Carmen?

An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that is all Carmen is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Carmen, who's 88. Carmen lives alone in Fayetteville, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Carmen loves chess, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Tuesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
