Could you share an hour a week with Brielle?

An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Brielle is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Brielle, who's 77. Brielle lives alone in Brooklyn, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives 533 kilometers away. Brielle loves old films, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Thinking of you and your family. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too
