Looking for a spare room in Birmingham for a few months; Easton can contribute to bills and help around the house.

After a flood that wrecked my apartment, I'm temporarily without a home. I work as a care assistant in Birmingham and I have a steady income, but I can't find a place that will let me in without the first month, a deposit and references that I'm in the middle of replacing. I'm looking for a spare room for 3 months. I can pay $130 a month toward bills, I'm tidy and quiet, and I'd be happy to help with cooking, shopping or yard work. I have no pets, I don't smoke, and I have a landlord and employer references. I understand that inviting a stranger into your home is a big step. I'd be glad to meet in a public place first and to share my work details. Thank you so much.

  • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Soweto.

    • Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope August is when things finally get easier. All the best.

      • Good luck. Shared it with a few friends. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day

        • Hope it all works out, Easton. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Cincinnati this morning. All the best!

          • Wishing you the best, Easton. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Please keep us posted
