San Cristóbal de las Casas
I'm writing for my neighbor Joaquín, who's 79. Joaquín lives alone in San Cristóbal de las Casas, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives a long flight away. Joaquín loves gardening, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Wednesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • hang in there. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like

    • Stay strong, Andrea. Shared this with my family. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of San Cristóbal de las Casas!

      • Rooting for you, Andrea. Shared this with my family. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of San Cristóbal de las Casas.
