I'm 86 and I have lived in this house in Los Angeles for 44 years. After the storm in July, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of my hip replacement. The council has told me it will be eight weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner. Help needed: someone with a chainsaw, plus a few people with rakes and gloves. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Best of luck, Avery. Looking forward to the next update. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.

    • You're not alone, Avery. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
