Clean water and shade for Cầu Giấy: restoring Unity Beach
Help us clean and replant Unity Beach before the April planting window closes.
🇻🇳 Cầu Giấy, Hanoi, Vietnam1,662 views
Unity Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This February, 77 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 169 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $300 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $90
• Tools and protective gear: $70
• Waste removal and skip hire: $110
• Signage and educational materials: $30

Updates from Kim
Update from Cầu Giấy: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 5% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Wanted to say thank you properly. 3% funded and I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts.
