Clean streets and rivers for La Plata: restoring the Liberty riverbank
Volunteers are restoring the Liberty riverbank in La Plata; $500 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.

The Liberty riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This May, 43 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 178 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $500 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $370
• Waste removal and skip hire: $90
• Signage and educational materials: $40
I hope life is good to you.

wishing you peace, Cristian. More neighborhoods should do this
Your post was clear and honest. My neighbor in Heliopolis donated after I showed her your page. Love from Heliopolis.
Take care, Cristian. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'll check back for the next update. Take care!
