Clean air and water for Moscow: restoring Unity Beach
Volunteers are restoring Unity Beach in Moscow; $850 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.

Unity Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This January, 67 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 120 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $850 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $410
• Tools and protective gear: $190
• Waste removal and skip hire: $190
• Signage and educational materials: $60

Hope you get there. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Moscow
Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Niterói.
Thinking of you, Roman. More neighborhoods should do this.
Hope it all works out, Roman. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of Moscow.
