The Baobab wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 77 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 56 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted. Where the $450 goes: • Native saplings and stakes: $270 • Tools and protective gear: $40 • Waste removal and skip hire: $75 • Signage and educational materials: $65 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Vino

  2. Quick update: $23 raised so far (5%). I made the first payment toward signage and educational materials. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 2% now ($10). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for waste removal and skip hire is now scheduled.
