Claire can't leave home - help build a ramp
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in San Diego.
🇺🇸 California, United States555 views
Claire has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Claire can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Claire's family will cook lunch for the team.

So sorry you're going through this. Looking forward to the next update. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of San Diego
Hang in there, Lucy. I hope things turn around soon. God bless.
