Chidinma can't leave home - help build a ramp
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Port Harcourt.
🇳🇬 Port Harcourt, Rivers, Nigeria888 views
Chidinma has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Chidinma can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Chidinma's family will cook lunch for the team.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Sending good thoughts, Folake. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too
Sending strength. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.
Hope you get there. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Port Harcourt.
