Chiamaka was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in August. The oncology team at Zaria Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Chiamaka is 47, worked as a farmer until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Zaria Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $450 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $190 • Transport to Zaria Regional Medical Center: $100 • Scans and lab work: $160 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
