Chamari can't leave home - help build a ramp
Chamari uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇱🇰 Southern, Sri Lanka647 views
Chamari has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Chamari can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Chamari's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you so much.

Sending strength, Piumi. Your post was clear and honest.
so sorry you're going through this, Piumi. Gave what I could, wish it was more. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust!
Take care, Piumi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Greetings from Los Angeles.
Thinking of you and your family. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My neighbor in Memphis donated after I showed her your page. All the best
stay strong. Looking forward to the next update. Love from Belém.
So sorry you're going through this, Piumi. Shared this with my family. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Kingston!
thinking of you and your family, Piumi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
