Caruaru house fire that spread across the block relief - the Millbrook district
Neighbors in the Millbrook district are rebuilding after the house fire that spread across the block; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the Millbrook district on 16 March. My home was one of 59 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $900 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $290
• Tools and labor for repairs: $420
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $190
With deep gratitude,
Beatriz

Thinking of you and your family, Beatriz. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. God bless.
Take care. Shared this with my family. It's not much but it's yours. Love from Rochester.
