Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Sofia

Help Sofia regain independence: a simple ramp build.

Sofia has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Sofia can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Sofia's family will cook lunch for the team. Thank you so much.

Keep going, Rita. Your post was clear and honest. After 6 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
