Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Skylar
Skylar uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇺🇸 California, United States1,309 views
Skylar has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Skylar can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Skylar's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you so much.

Good luck. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
Thinking of you, James. This could happen to any of us. Put this on a community board in Townsville this morning. Love from Townsville.
Shared it with a few friends. My neighbor in Pune donated after I showed her your page. God bless.
