Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Rakesh
Help Rakesh regain independence: a simple ramp build.
๐ฎ๐ณ Delhi, India573 views
Rakesh has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Rakesh can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Rakesh's family will cook lunch for the team.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

wishing you the best. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Rohini.
Good luck, Arjun. Shared this with my family. Love from Seoul.
Stay strong, Arjun. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Rohini
