Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Rahma
Help Rahma regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇺🇸 California, United States742 views
Rahma has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Rahma can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Rahma's family will cook lunch for the team.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Good luck. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Wish I lived closer to Kampala so I could bring a meal. Love from Nagoya
