Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Raffaele

Raffaele uses a wheelchair and cannot leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Raffaele has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Raffaele can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Raffaele's family will cook lunch for the team. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • You're not alone. Shared it with a few friends. Love from San Jose.

    • Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.

      • Rooting for you, Rita. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.

        • Wishing Raffaele a smooth procedure and a full recovery. We're a small family in Surakarta but we're thinking of you. Love from Surakarta
