Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Mukasa

Help Mukasa regain independence: a simple ramp build.

Mukasa has used a wheelchair since 2021, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Mukasa can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Mukasa's family will cook lunch for the team. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • Take care. Shared it with a few friends. My neighbor in Barranquilla donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Barranquilla.
