Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Lwazi
Help Lwazi regain independence: a simple ramp build.
๐ฟ๐ฆ Eastern Cape, South Africa464 views
Lwazi has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Lwazi can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Lwazi's family will cook lunch for the team.
Glad we found this place.

Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Warsaw
