Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Itzel
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Los Angeles.
🇺🇸 Los Angeles, California, United States555 views
Itzel has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Itzel can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Itzel's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you so much.

Praying for you, Mariana. Hope the doctors have good news. I'm in logistics myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
Best of luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.
Keep going, Mariana. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. We're a small family in Kaduna but we're thinking of you
Thinking of you, Mariana. Shared this with my family. My neighbor in Brooklyn donated after I showed her your page.
Hope it all works out, Mariana. This could happen to any of us.
