Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Guadalupe

Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Monterrey.

Guadalupe has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Guadalupe can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Guadalupe's family will cook lunch for the team. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • Best of luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Monterrey.

    • thinking of you and your family. Wishing Guadalupe a smooth procedure and a full recovery.

      • Wishing you peace. Wishing Guadalupe a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.

        • Stay strong, Emiliano. Hope the doctors have good news

          • Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 24 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Monterrey.
