Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Geetha
Geetha uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇮🇳 Nagpur, Maharashtra, India963 views
Geetha has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Geetha can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Geetha's family will cook lunch for the team.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hang in there, Janani. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Greetings from Surakarta.
Good luck, Janani. Shared it with a few friends. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Benin City.
Wishing you the best, Janani. This could happen to any of us. Take care
