I'm caring for me, who's 76. After a diagnosis of dementia Senthil can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Senthil desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Senthil worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.

• Medication and prescriptions: $90
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $70

So sorry you're going through this, Senthil. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
