Build a wheelchair ramp for Yewande in Nsukka
Help Yewande regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇳🇬 Enugu, Nigeria928 views
Yewande has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Yewande can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Yewande's family will cook lunch for the team.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Keep going, Michael. I hope things turn around soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
hang in there. Hope this works out for you. My neighbor in Cluj-Napoca donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Cluj-Napoca.
Hope the doctors have good news. Sent it to 5 people at work. Thinking of Nsukka.
