Build a wheelchair ramp for Willem in Cape Town
Help Willem regain independence: a simple ramp build.
๐ฟ๐ฆ Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa260 views
Willem has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Willem can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Willem's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you so much.

I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Love from Aurora.
Wishing you the best, Karin. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We're a small family in Rio de Janeiro but we're thinking of you. God bless.
Hang in there. Wishing Willem a smooth procedure and a full recovery. All the best.
So sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. I hope May is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Cape Town.
