Build a wheelchair ramp for Una in Dublin
Help Una regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇮🇪 Leinster, Ireland225 views
Una has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Una can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Una's family will cook lunch for the team.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
- effort
- one weekend
- format
- In person in Dublin
- skills
- carpentry, measuring, power tools

Sending good thoughts, Deirdre. Your post was clear and honest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. God bless.
