Thulani has used a wheelchair since 2021, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Thulani can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Thulani's family will cook lunch for the team. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • Sending strength, Craig. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected

    • sending good thoughts. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Greetings from Addis Ababa

      • You're not alone, Craig. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. God bless.

        • hope it all works out. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out.

          • good luck, Craig. Shared this with my family. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money
