Build a wheelchair ramp for Stefano in Rome
Help Stefano regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇮🇹 Rome, Lazio, Italy1,492 views
Stefano has used a wheelchair since 2021, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Stefano can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Stefano's family will cook lunch for the team.
