Build a wheelchair ramp for Silas in Bowling Green
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Bowling Green.
🇺🇸 Bowling Green, Kentucky, United States1,222 views
Silas has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Silas can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Silas's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you so much.

Best of luck, Ian. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
