Shoaib has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Shoaib can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Shoaib's family will cook lunch for the team. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • Hang in there. Looking forward to the next update. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Kikuyu.

    • Sending love. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
