Build a wheelchair ramp for Roberto in Niterói
Help Roberto regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇧🇷 Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil271 views
Roberto has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Roberto can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Roberto's family will cook lunch for the team.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Wishing you peace, Fernanda. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Wish I lived closer to Toledo so I could bring a meal.
Thinking of you, Fernanda. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Niterói.
