Build a wheelchair ramp for Rashed in Dhaka
Rashed uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇧🇩 Dhaka, Bangladesh904 views
Rashed has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Rashed can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Rashed's family will cook lunch for the team.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Wishing you peace, Fatema. I hope things turn around soon. Take care.
sending strength, Fatema. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Lahore this morning
Keep going, Fatema. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Please keep us posted.

Thinking of you and your family, Fatema. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
