Mangaluru
Ramesh has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Ramesh can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Ramesh's family will cook lunch for the team. I hope life is good to you.

Best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Mangaluru.

    • Take care. Hope the doctors have good news. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Mangaluru.

      • Wishing you peace. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Put this on a community board in Johannesburg this morning. Greetings from Johannesburg.
