Ramesh has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Ramesh can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Ramesh's family will cook lunch for the team. I hope life is good to you.

  • So sorry you're going through this, Sabina. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Kathmandu

    • Hope things get better soon, Sabina. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did!
